diagram

Rxf2+! Kxg2 Qf5+ Ke2 Qf3#. Fred apparently underestimated Cedric in this game playing quite carelessly. Thi s could have been the finish of this game however Cedric did go on to Knock off Fred in a few extra moves.Black's position is overwhelming.

Rommel Dizon- Jim Brennan

Rxg2+! starts it off.

Yadviga Gawetski- Werner Dejong

g5+! Yadviga played Nh4 and won in a couple more moves g5+ is more accurate.

Alvah Mayo - Michael Fleischman

Nxh6! and white gets an easily winning endgame after Rxh6 Rf7+! Rg7 Rxc7 Rxh5 Rxc8 no credit if you didn't see all of this one.

Alvah Mayo - Robert Villeneuve

Rxe6! white has an irresistable attack after Rxe6 Qxf5 since blacks pieces are caught on the queen side.

Robert Villeneuve - Alvah Mayo

Bf8! This one is tough a nice clearance sac to start followed by an exchange sac and then a piece sac and a waiting move after all that! All th ematic says Rob! That is why he just made master I guess. The finish is Rxf8 Rxh8! Kxh8 Qh6+ Kg8 Nd5! Nxd5 Rh1 and mate is unstoppable.

Antoni Wysocki - Ed Urquhart

Ncd3+ ! White loses a lot of material. White had just blundered in a very interesting position with Rd1-c1.

Jim Mathers - Gerald Lomond

Rxg6! would have capped off a nice attack. Qa1+ is nothing after Bg1!, the game was eventually drawn.
