| Byes: | A half point bye is available upon request for rounds 1 to 4 if requested in advance of the start of the round. A bye will not be available for the final round on Sunday. |
| Registration: | Friday, February 24, 2012 on site from 5:00 pm to 5:45 pm. |
| Time Control: | Game in 2 hours, plus a thirty-second increment added per move starting from the first move. |
| Round Times: | Friday: 6:00 pm, Saturday: 10:00 am and 4:00 pm, Sunday: 10:00 am and 4:00 pm |
| Entry Fee: | Adults: $35; Juniors (under 18) & Seniors (65 years or older): $30. |
| Prizes: | Winner will have his/her name engraved on the Bluenose Cup trophy. Additional prizes will be based on the number of players participating. |

| Miscellaneous: | PLEASE BRING YOUR OWN CHESS SET & CLOCK Membership in the Chess Federation of Canada (CFC) is required to participate in the tournament. If, you do not have a CFC membership you can purchase either an annual membership or a one-tournament membership on site. Smoking is not permitted at the tournament site. |
