The next day featured a falling barometer, heavy rain showers and strong southerly gusts. The only on-deck activity was a mid-afternoon exercise getting the dinghy hoisted up and lashed down on deck in preparation for the crossing to Cape Breton. We noted that the little streams and trickles of yesterday were now roaring masses of water running off the saturated boggy land. | |
