The kinds of orchids that you find there, such as Phalaenopsis, Oncidium, Cattleya and Dendrobium, are easy to grow in the home environment. There are many other types of orchids that can give you a challenge and you should check their cultural requirements before you spend some money – ask the vendor.
The best way to expand your collection is to join the local orchid society. You will find many opportunities to buy or trade plants. You will find a wide range of plants and lots of advice.
