CIAU FOOTBALL PLAYER OF THE WEEK

Tue Nov 14
This weeks CIAU Football Player of the Week is Calgary Dino Quarterback, Jason Assen.
Assen completed 27 of 47 passes for 338 yards as the Dinosaurs defeated defending champion Saskatchewan 32-30 in overtime to win the Hardy Cup. Jason, who threw three touchdown passes, also had eight carries for 26 yards.
He also had one of the game's big plays, running for a two-point convert at 7:21 of the fourth quarter. That pulled Calgary, which had trailed 29-12 early in the third quarter, to within a field goal of a tie.

Tuesday, November 7 1995
This weeks CIAU Football Player of the Week is Mt. Allison Mountie, Eric Lapointe.

Lapointe rushed 22 times, for an outstanding 311 yards, placing him in the CIAU National Single Game Highlights for Most Yards Rushing. His longest rush on the day was for 53 yards. He gained nine first downs and one touchdown as the Mounties defeated the Saint Mary's Huskies 29-23 in the final regular season game in the AUAA.

Oct 23
This weeks CIAU Football Player of the Week is Manitoba Bison, Dave Donaldson.

Donaldson scored two touchdowns, one on a 64-yard punt return, in the Bisons' win at Alberta. Donaldson, who finished three-for-93 yards in punt returns, also caught four passes for 131 yards - those statistics included a 60-yard touchdown reception. Going into the game, he had only six catches for 120 yards.

This weeks CIAU Football Player of the Week is Bishop's Gaiter quarterback, Trevor Lovig.

Lovig showed why he is among the nation's leading passers in his team's 34-8 romp over Concordia. The 6 -foot-1, 210-pound native of St. Albert, Alta., completed 30 of 48 passes for 384 yards and three touchdowns, He is a fourth-year business administration major.

Oct 2
Quarterback Dennis Pitselis of the Concordia Stingers is the CIAU Football Player of the Week. In his first start of the year, Pitselis completed 16 of 31 passes for 337 yards and two touchdowns in his teams' 48-44 upset of Ottawa. In addition to his impressive passing stats, Pitselis, a fifth year marketing major, scored two rushing touchdowns, including what turned out to be the game winner.
