In the Piazza Not quite a poncho, not quite a sweater, this hybrid works as both. Easy to pull over your head and slip on, it is perfect knitwear for cooler days. Worked in a simple geometric shape, this design uses wide ribs that flow into the Basketweave Stitch Pattern of the main body. Short rows shape the shoulders and a 3-needle bind-off joins the front to the back so that seaming is kept to a minimum.
The sample pictured is knit with Fleece Artist Woolie Silk 3-Ply, 65% wool, 35% silk, (230 m./252 yds. per 100 g. skein), colour "Burnt Sienna", size Extra Small/Small. Yarn is held doubled throughout. Level of Difficulty: Easy Size: Extra Small/Small, Medium/Large, Extra Large Lower Width: 66 cm./26 in. (83 cm./33 in.; 99 cm./40 in.) Total width from sleeve cuff to sleeve cuff: 121 cm./48 in. (138 cm./55 in.; 150 cm./61 in.) Total length at centre back: 38 cm./15 in. (46 cm./18.5 in.; 56 cm./22 in.) Suggested Yarn: Chunky yarn in the following amounts: 600 m./656 yds. (875 m./957 yds.; 1200 m./1312 yds.) A lighter weight yarn may be used and doubled, as in the sample pictured. Then double the amount of yardage will be required. Needles: 6.5 mm. (US 10.5) and 7.0 mm.
