We have received a complaint about the new template from Donna Randell, who says that the color chosen for visited links is sufficiently close to the color of unvisited links that her and others like her who have difficulty distinguishing between shades of green cannot easily see the contrast. I propose that the template file be changed so that in the _body_ tag, vlink="#808080", a neutral shade of grey visible at all color resolutions and easily distinguishable from the green we use for unvisited links. I have put up a home page clone at http://www.chebucto.ns.ca/test.shtml which uses this. Note that all sub pages coming off of this are our real subpages and have not been altered. My reasoning for using this grey is so that a visited link appears slightly 'washed out', that is, presents an intuitive 'visited' appearance; the color will appear the same at all color resolutions and is easily legible; and it contrasts well against the unvisited link color. I propose that we change this in the template and in any hard-coded pages using the template design for Monday.
