Hi Peter,

I am copying this to Tech in the event there is an errant modem in our
pool; however, as the pool is random, re-dialing in would cause you to
reach another modem, your connection problem may be an adjustment you need
on your end.

Check your password; you are issued two, one for PLUS and one for your
mail/text service. Reversing them would cause connection problems.
Second: check your IP settings to ensure you have TCP/IP selected and not
NetBui or anything else. Usually, in XP, just entering the service name
and number along with your userid and password is all that's needed but
it's possible another setting may have been previously altered.

Let us know if the above helped at all.
