=== > Re: Mordechai Vanunu
A WEEK OF INTERNATIONAL PROTEST ACTIONS IN ISRAEL
September 17-24, 1998:

The Israeli Committee for Mordechai Vanunu and for a Middle East Free of

Nuclear, Chemical and Biological Weapons, invites women and men from
around
the world to participate in a week of protest and solidarity in Israel,
marking the 12th year of imprisonment of Israeli nuclear whistleblower
Mordechai Vanunu, who was recently released from 11 1/2 years in
solitary
confinement. The week of protest takes place shortly before Vanunu's
second
parole hearing. Parole was denied at Vanunu's first hearing on May 4,
1998.

Join us in demanding:
* FREEDOM FOR NUCLEAR WHISTLEBLOWER MORDECHAI VANUNU
* A MIDDLE EAST FREE OF WEAPONS OF MASS DESTRUCTION
* A HALT TO ISRAEL'S UNINSPECTED NUCLEAR WEAPONS PROGRAM

The activities include vigils at Ashkelon Prison, where Vanunu is
incarcerated; a demonstration near the nuclear plant in Dimona, where
Vanunu once worked; a seminar on non-violent protest techniques; a visit
to
Bedouin villages in the Negev desert, whose inhabitants are exposed to
environmental risks from the reactor; and more (see attached schedule).

People attending must pay for their own airfare, housing, food and other

personal costs. Space has been reserved at a hostel in Tel-Aviv at very
reasonable rates.
