                               Marjorie Willison
GIVES AN INTRODUCTION TO ORGANIC GARDENING
July 4-5 1998 at Windhorse Farm

Windhorse Farm will offer a weekend intensive course, "Introduction to
Organic Gardening," July 4 and 5, 1998. We are pleased to announce that
Marjorie Willison will teach the program, using aspects of the four acres
of gardens at Windhorse Farm as examples of methods and possibilities.
These gardens include flowers, herbs, vegetables and fruit as well as
plenty of room for birds and butterflies.

The program is intended for a wide audience including beginning gardeners
and those who have been growing for many years. We will discuss the basic
logic and foundation for going "organic" as well as practical details of
how to do it. No doubt there will be discussions about the many benefits
of organic gardening including soil fertility, environmental protection,
human health, and exhileration of the taste buds.

Marjorie Willison is an experienced gardener who is familiar to most Nova
Scotians as the gardening expert on CBC Radio's Maritime Noon show and CBC
television's First Edition newshour. She is the author of "The Complete
Gardeners' Almanac" and "Easy Garden Planning". She has been a long-time
advocate of organic gardening and farming methods.

If you would like to register for the course, contact Margaret Drescher at
<margaret@windhorsefarm.org> or (902)543-0122. The cost for the weekend is
$80.00. This does not include food so bring a lunch. Light refreshments
will be served at the breaks in the morning and afternoon . We will begin
at 9:00AM each day and end at 4:00 PM.
