The Transportation Cooperative of PEI is holding a one day conference on
the subject of Community Transportation and Community Well-Being.
Location: UPEI Veterinary College, Charlottetown
Date: Fri. June 12, 1998  0900-1630
Registration $25. (Unwaged $10) includes lunch and conference materials

There is almost no public transportation on Prince Edward Island. This
over dependence on the automobile has been the driving force behind the
conference. The problem affects students who have trouble getting to
classes, seniors who need health care, and those who want to protect the
environment. In fact it affects up to 30% of our population who do not
have access to a car.

Agenda is as follows:
0915 Panel on Passenger Transport Issues
1030 Transportation on other small islands
Noon Lunch address: Economic, Social, and Environmental Benefits of
public passenger transport.
1300 5 Concurrent Workshops
1530 Plenary: Recommendations and Summary

For more details contact the Transportation Cooperative of PEI Box 1882,
Charlottetown C1A 7N8  Ph: 566-4170  Fax: 566-4037  e-mail: peien@isn.net
