While I do not wish to enter a lengthy debate, I would like to add a
few words:
Island Nature Trust was formed in 1979 for the *sole* purpose of
protecting - through purchase, lease or agreement with private
landowners - areas of identified ecological importance on PEI. We
have never been nor claimed to be an advocacy group, nor do we fund
raise on that basis. You may feel our mandate is too narrow, but
this focus has allowed us to protect many of our priority sites.

Now, a few questions:
Has the Nature Trust of New Brunswick, the Nova Scotia Nature Trust,
or the Nature Conservancy of Canada been approached to support the
campaign? If not, why? If so, what was their reponse?

Sharon has mentioned two PEI groups supporting her campaign: the PEI
Wildlife Federation and the PEI Humane Society. Have any other
Island groups (for example, the Natural History Society of PEI,
ECOPEI, BBEMA, SEA, or the over 50 community environmental
groups) been approched for support? If not, why? If so, what was
their response?
