Lawn chemicals no worse than smoking? Whew! That's a relief ... i was
beginning to worry that they might be bad for me, or something . . . :)

A BUG'S DEATH: Lawn care contractors are discussing new laws for pesticide
spraying at the Horticultural Trade show held in Halifax this week. Tom
Delaney, who represents a large portion of the industry in the U.S., says
contractors should explain the harmlessness of diluted pesticides and that
they are no worse than cigarette smoke. In some areas of Nova Scotia
implementation of exclusive zones, places where pesticides can't be
sprayed, is under consideration. CBC RADIO 7:30 a.m.

MARITIMES GET DIBS ON GAS: Two-thirds of the gas produced by the Sable
Offshore Energy project will be used in the Maritimes and not pipelined to
Boston as most people believe. New England market potential did start the
project but many Maritime businesses have an interest in and demand for
natural gas. This should result in lower shipping costs and cause Nova
Scotia royalties to increase. CHRONICLE-HERALD B1
