Hi there,
Cinema PIRGatory, a new working group of the Nova Scotia Public Interest
Research Group, would like to announce the next two weeks of films, shown
on Monday nights at the McMechan Room at the Killam Library. We hope you
can attend.

"WHO'S COUNTING?"
Marilyn Waring on sex, lies and global economics.
"I give this film (and Ms. Waring, of course) every superlative - riveting,
revealing, inspiring, etc...It penetrates to the heart of the global,
ecological and social crisis that afflicts the world. Required viewing for
all who know we're on a destructive path and want to get off."

Following the film, Ron Colman will talk about the Genuine Progress Index,
an alternative to the GDP.

A VIDEO FESTIVAL:
Celebrating International Women's Day
In celebration of International Women's Day, join Canadian activist
and Dalhousie Chair holder in Women's Health and the Environment,
Elizabeth May for a special video festival sponsored by Nova Scotia Public
Interest Research Group of Dalhousie University and the Maritime
Centre of Excellence for Women's Health
The festival includes:
A premier screening of the video "TOXIC PARTNERS", a Sierra Club
documentary about 2 communities with toxic waste sites and human
suffering within them, narrated by David Suzuki, produced by Black
River Productions, Cape Breton.
"EXPOSURE", an exploration of environmental links to breast cancer.
"FURY FOR THE SOUND" , a documentary about the women who fought for
the preservation of Clayquot Sound.
