URGENT! YOUR HELP NEEDED NOW! HELP STOP THE USE OF LAWN PESTICIDES
SHOW UP IN PERSON AT TWO EVENTS THAT PUBLICIZE
NATIONAL PESTICIDE-FREE WEEK, APRIL 19-25, 1999
This is a special week coordinated by Sierra Club Canada's Campaign for
Pesticide Reduction (CPR!)
Campaigns for pesticide bylaws are underway in more than 50 cities
across Canada.
You can help the campaign in the Halifax area by attending these two
events
its a body count! numbers matter!
1. READING THE PROCLAMATION (Announcing National Pesticide-Free Week)
Where: Halifax Regional Council, HALIFAX CITY HALL -- corner of Duke,
Argyle & Barrington Streets
When: Tues., April 13th, 6:00PM Sharp. First Thing on the Agenda
Includes a presentation by a student from the Sacred Heart School of HFX
You can leave right afterwards
PLEASE COME! Bring friends!
2. NATIONAL PESTICIDE-FREE WEEK PARK WALK
Where: POINT PLEASANT PARK - Starts and ends at main parking lot, foot
of Tower Road
When: SUNDAY, April 25th, 2:30-3:30PM (rain date:
a week later, May 2nd, same time and place)
***The Raging Grannies will sing at the end of the walk !!***
Make a sign! Wear a Button! Bring Friends!
Spread the news. Phone and e-mail with gay abandon!
COME AND CELEBRATE THE CLEAN PESTICIDE-FREE AIR IN THE PARK
SAFE FOR FAMILIES, CHILDREN, AND PETS!!!
