SUMMER INTERNSHIPS
WITH THE
INTERNATIONAL ACTION CENTER
FIGHTING WAR AND RACISM!

Dear anti-war and anti-racist activist,

Spend your summer as an intern fighting against war and racism with
the International Action Center at our headquarters in New York City
or San Francisco!

Organize and fight back against U.S. Wars from Yugoslavia to Iraq!
Fight to free Mumia Abu-Jamal and all political prisoners! Fight back
against Police Brutality and Gay and Trans bashings!

Work in the national headquarters of the International Action Center,
at the heart of mobilizations for social justice like the June 5 March
on the Pentagon to stop the bombing of Yugoslavia and the Millions for
Mumia Mobilization.

CONTACT THE INTERNATIONAL ACTION CENTER TODAY
at 212-633-6646 or fill in the Online Application by clicking the link
below:

http://home.earthlink.net/~npcboston/iacintrn.htm

or fill out and send back the application form at the bottom of this
message to iacenter@iacenter.org (put SUMMER INTERN in the subject
line!).

Major projects you will have the opportunity to work on:

* Emergency Mobilization to Stop the War in Yugoslavia, currently
building the June 5 March on the Pentagon

* Campaign to stop the bombing and sanctions against Iraq -- the IAC,
founded by Ramsey Clark in 1991 to expose and oppose the U.S. War
Crimes against Iraq from the Gulf War onward, has organized numerous
trips to Iraq including two Iraq Sanctions Challenge delegations that
have brought over $5 million worth of medicine to Iraq in direct
defiance of the sanctions.

* Millions for Mumia summer mobilization -- actions in Philadelphia
over the July 4th weekend, ongoing organizing and mobilizing to save
Mumia.

* Organizing with the community against Police Brutality such as in
the Amadou Diallo case and against right wing violence and lynchings
directed at people of color, Lesbians, Gay, Bi, Two-Spirit and Trans
people, and women

You will work together with seasoned activists in all of these
struggles, and directly with the communities involved and affected.

Check out our web site at http://www.iacenter.org to get a better idea
of what we're all about!

Major skill areas you will have the opportunity to develop:

* Organizing demonstrations

* Writing leaflets

* Writing press releases and working with the media

* Using the Internet as an outreach tool -- web pages, email lists

* Working on video projects with the Peoples Video Network -
recording the struggle and using peoples' video as an outreach tool.

* Developing fundraising materials and organizing fundraising
activities.

* Working together with others on all of the tasks that make a
mobilization successful.

* Researching and learning the truth about war and racism that the
government tries to keep hidden

Qualifications: A willingness to work collectively and cooperatively
with others toward the common objective of fighting for social
justice.

The IAC is an all volunteer organization without any paid staff.
Minimal expenses for lunch and transportation are possible.
