			   Food Co-op Activists Wanted!
                           ````````````````````````````
The North Commons Food Co-op is a volunteer group that is working to open
Halifax's first co-op food store (likely sometime in 2000 in the Commons,
Robie, Agricola St. area).  The Co-op currently operates a monthly pre-order
food co-op in the Commons-North neighbourhood and a Saturday morning
fund-raising table (The Grainery) at the Halifax Farmers Market.
We are looking for new volunteers to help carry out the work of building the
Co-op -- taking a turn staffing the Farmers Market table and participating
in Co-op store development meetings.  If you think a co-op food store would
be a good thing in Halifax and you would like to get involved in making it
happen then please call Robert Jeans or Nancy Landon at 423-1603 or email
<aa142@chebucto.ns.ca>.
In addition to all the usual perks of volunteering with an activist project
(helping to save the environment, good experience, meeting nice people),
with this one you'll also be sure to quickly find your cupboards stocked
with lots of nutritious, organic, Maritime-grown Co-op food!
FYI:	        Our values include:
		A vision of a Bio-regional food system
		An interest in Fair Trade
		An interest in Alternative Transportation
		A commitment to a Co-operative economy
		Respect for workers
