I've come across the website of the Canadian Environmental Law Association, and recommend it to sust-mar subscribers: www.web.net/cela.

There is excellent documentation here of how the Harris government in Ontario has "trashed" environmental protection.

There is no doubt that the Hamm government in Nova Scotia is looking to Ontario for guidance and advice. This was most obvious during the election campaign, when Hamm said he wouldn't promise a tax cut because no-one would believe him, and then one week later (after consulting the Harris spin doctors) he was promising a tax cut. Harris advisers are being "loaned" to the Hamm government.

We should therefore be very vigilant for any signs of the Harris tactics (dismantling laws, weakening government, shutting out the public, and selling the natural heritage) being imported into Nova Scotia.
