Page 18 of Wednesday's Daily News has an invitation to haligonians to be
part of something called the Community Monitoring committee, by joining
the Halifax Waste/Resource Society.

Members (if they join by May 3) can attend the AGM on May 25, elect reps
to the committee, receive updates, etc. The committee purports to monitor
HRM's waste strategy.

Question: can anyone tell me what this is about? Is this an NGO?
Government?

And should environmentally-minded citizens be flocking to join, or should
we stay away?

Feedback appareciated ...

Thanks
~paul :)
