Please note that Commuter Rail will probably not be going to HRM Council
this coming Tuesday 25 April as I had earlier indicated. Staff are
preparing a report and the issue may go on Tues. May 2. I'll keep you
posted as things develop. In the meantime, this gives more opportunities
for members of the public to get on the agenda for presentations at any
Council meeting if you send a faxed request to the Mayor and Councillors
at 490-4208. There's a maximum of two presentations per Council session,
with a maximum duration of 5 minutes each. You can also just send them a
written submission (same fax). The phone contact for either presentations
or submissions is Shelly Brown at the Municipal Clerk's Office, 490-6524.
Any ideas on how to cost share or obtain corporate partnerships on
commuter rail would certainly help the debate at this point! Also we are
looking for comparative cost recovery figures from other smaller cities.
Any such material could be sent to me at fax 490-4346. Thanks for your
interest.

confirming with Shelly Brown, tel. 490-6524. A maximum of two presentatio=
ns is allowed per week; written submissions can also be faxed.

Given the complexity, and importance of the issue, staff will require =
additional time to assemble the data in order to provide recommendations =
to Council relative to the Commuter Rail Committee Report.

Therefore, the Staff Report will not be available for Regional Council on =
April 25th. We expect to submit a Report for the meeting of May 9th or =
possibly May 16th.=20

We apologize for the delay, but the issue is complex and we have to work =
around the Easter Holidays.

Deputy CAO
