Hello,

I sent out a message last week about a meeting towards starting a non-profit
organization to support the transformation of Halifax into a sustainable
city. Our interests so far include community gardens, sewage treatment, and
education. There are some others interested in architecture and
transportation. The idea is to form sub-committees and work on a consensus
basis, so that we can each have a focus while working with the whole. For
the next while we are going to have meetings every Saturday at 12:30, at AND
Tobin's on Agricola St., just north of the armoury. Also, I would like to
know how we can be involved with sustainable maritime.

Thank you,
Olathe Clark

Hello,

There is a meeting at And Tobin's Art Space on Agricola St. (just north of
the commons) this Saturday at 12:00pm. Some folks are getting together to
come up with a council and a focus for a non-profit organization towards
building sustainable community infrastructures in Halifax. Community
gardens, alternative sewage treatment--waste reclamation on a community
level, and natural buildings, as well as building restoration and
modification are all possibilities. Education is of course a large aspect
of these works. The first work could be a community center that
incorporates these ideas and the ones you bring. This summer, let us sweat
the sweet sweat of self sustenance together (sorry, I get emotional about
this stuff).

Yours,
Olathe Clark
