EDITOR: howdy -- if you wouldn't mind, this press release I think is
relevant to the list. I had originally written it as a response to the
person and Cc'd it to the list but I don't think it got in.

Solar Nova Scotia is pleased to announce the next course of Solar Shelter
Design, a practical, how-to course on designing and building solar
shelters, incluing greehouses, solaria, additions and especially solar
homes.
This course is intended for the general public and for those in design and
construction. The main instructor is one of Canada's most experienced
solar designer-builders, Don Roscoe.
Upcoming courses are being offered in a six-evening format:
(1) _Solar Basics_ of active and passive, an affordable approach.
(2) _Climate Control_ for comfort and health, energy and the environment
(3) _Site Designing_ working with nature
(4) _Shelter Designing_ bringing you, your needs, and your site together
(5) _Solar Construction_ ground frost insulation, heat storage slabs, glazing
types and systems and solar mechanicals
(6) _Making It Happen_ costing, controlling costs, contracting, doing it
yourself, case studies, and other approaches.
The course will be offered in:
HALIFAX:
NS Community College, Leeds St, Thursdays starting Feb. 8, 7 - 10:00pm
WINDSOR:
Windsor Community Education Centre, Wednesdays starting Jan. 31, 7 - 10:00pm
CHESTER BASIN:
Forest Heights, Tuesdays starting Jan. 30, 7 - 10:00pm
The two-Saturday format course will be offered in Halifax in the spring.
Fee for the course is $70 for individuals and $125 for couples. The
textbook for the course is Solar Nova Scotia's _Solar Shelter Manual_
which if you don't have already, you can buy during the course for $15.
