NOVA SCOTIA PUBLIC INTEREST RESEARCH GROUP CALLING ALL FILM FANATICS:

Hi there,
Maybe you've already heard about Cinema PIRGatory through the grapevine. Or
maybe you've had the opportunity to attend a Tuesday evening film at the
McMechan Auditorium in the Killam Library. Either way, you probably know
it's a great venue for showing intriguing/compelling films about topical,
often very controversial issues and participating in often equally
intriguing/compelling discussions.

For the past two years, Dave Caulfield, who has also served on the nspirg
board, pretty much ran the film night with great style and success. From
arranging the room booking to buying the films to greeting the film goers,
Dave did it all. He made posters, sent movie write-ups on email, introduced
the films and often organized speakers or facilitators to lead discussions
that focussed on the film's subject matter.

Dave did a lot (all on a voluntary basis) but work commitments have made it
impossible for him to continue.

So, we are currently looking for one or more people to carry on the good
Cinema PIRGatory tradition.

According to Dave, the person(s) who takes over cinema PIRG should have:

- an interest in film
- an interest in social/environmental justice
- an ability to operate a vcr, stereo and remote control
- no problem with speaking in front of an audience
- time to devote to :
        -an interest in film
        -an interest in social/environmental justice
-operate a vcr, stereo and remote control
-make a poster and send out an email describing the film once a week

So, there you have it. If you 're interested let us know and we can arrange
for you to meet with the nspirg board and go from there.

February 6 marks the last nite of Dave's tenure, so we're hoping the new
coordinators could start some time after that.

Hope to hear back from a few fluent film fanatics soon! You can reach us
through email, or call us 494-6662 or drop by our office - room 314 SUB.

see you,

Linda Pannozzo
