*Full Scholarships for Sunship Earth Summer Camp*

There are ten full scholarships for the Sunship Earth camp this summer available to young people ages 10 to 12 who are willing to spend a couple of hours of their time to help the earth or others before May 1. Sunship Earth is an exciting, environmental adventure experience. It is a week-long, sleep-over camp run this summer for the twelfth year by the Halifax Regional Outdoor Centre on a beautiful lake in the Windsor area. It is outdoor adventure and fun, with a focused purpose - to help young people develop a strong positive relationship with the natural world and understand the basic ecological operating principles of the planet. Their waking hours are spent engaged in a non-stop series of outdoor activities - from stalking mice as a coyote, to sneaking into a giant leaf as a spy to learn the secret of photosynthesis. The final stage challenges them to examine the environmental impact of their own habits, and make a commitment to change something to help the earth. There are also traditional fun camp activities like swimming, canoeing, and campfires every day. Sunship Earth runs July 22-27, and July 29-August 3, 2001. Want to know more? Check out the web site at www.earthed.ns.ca or call Hugh MacDonald at the Halifax Regional Outdoor Centre, 490-4539.
