hi- Tony Reddin here
         - I'm helping to spread the word about an exciting project:

 called the Climate Change Caravan,
it's a cross-canada educational bike tour initiated by students in the
Bluegreen Society at Mt. Allison University
		(please see www.mta.ca/climatechangecaravan)-
if you can help out, even by just redirecting this along to everyone you
know in Canada, please do! Sorry if you get this more than once.

They especially need help with contacts in the places listed at the end of
this for accommodation, but help is needed at all the stops for food, with
setting up presentations, and finding vegetable oil for the bus. You can
check www.mta.ca/climatechangecaravan/route.htm to find out if the caravan
will be going through your town. Even if it's not, you can join up for the
challenge.

We are the Climate Change Caravan, a cross-country cycle tour to address
the issue of climate change. We are launching a campaign called "the Bet".
The Bet is a challenge. We are betting that we can reduce greenhouse gas
emissions by mobilizing Canadians, communities and groups to act. This
summer, beginning in Tofino, BC on May 7th and ending in Halifax, NS on
September 17th, we will bike the Bet across the country.

The Bet will be promoted via a coalition of national and regional
organizations. Community groups and individuals from across Canada will
take up the challenge by pledging to adopt five easy ways to reduce
emissions. Want to join? You will be able to participate and record your
  reductions on the Bet website.

Look for us on the roads and in the towns: touring bikes, recumbents,
tandems, and a bus powered on used vegetable oil, complete with solar
  panels and a wind turbine.

Please look on our website: www.mta.ca/climatechangecaravan for more
information about us and the Bet.

As a member of the Canadian initiative, taking action on climate change,
we cordially invite you and your program to bike with us. To date, we are 38
individuals biking the entire distance. Many more are joining on for
  various times and distances.

If you would like to join the coalition or help out, please email Leslie:
  bluegreen@mta.ca

  Thank you,
  Climate Change Caravan
