In a very real way, creating sustainable communities, regions, or
worlds, requires effective learning - both individually and
collectively. On June 12, there will be an opportunity to come together
with leaders from across Nova Scotia to explore such learning
processes. For those of you what are interested in learning more,
please see the information below.

Leadership Cafe
A Model for Creating Communities of Learning

With guest presenter Margaret Wheatley, author of the best-selling
Leadership and the New Science and mentor to businesses, communities,
and
organizations on five continents; and David Isaacs, organizational
consultant and co-founder of The World Cafe.

Tuesday, June 12, 4-6:30 pm
in the King's College Gymnasium.
Refreshments and cash bar to follow.
Admission $32. Advance registrations only.

A leadership cafe is a simple and lively method for bringing together
diverse stakeholders around questions of shared concern. A similar
process
has been used successfully in businesses, organizations, and communities
in
Latin America, Europe, Southeast Asia, South Africa, New Zealand,
Israel,
and the United States. The cafe transforms casual conversations into
collective inquiry and learning, allowing creative solutions to emerge
in
fresh and unexpected ways.

Why attend?

- Hear Margaret Wheatley speak about living systems as a model for
organizational and social change.

- Experience an innovative approach to increasing participation and
building
community.

- Network with others committed to lifelong learning and the future of
Nova
Scotia.

Who should come?

- Leaders in business, community groups, government, labour, the
arts, education, and the military.

- Anyone who works in the field of organizational development.

- Anyone who strives to create communities of learning.
