September 1-7: Falls Brook Centre, Knowlesville, New Brunswick, Canada.

Falls Brook Centre and the Atlantic Council for International Cooperation
would like to invite you to a workshop on: THE FUNDAMENTALS OF PERMACULTURE
DESIGN

This course is appropriate for anyone - from backyard gardeners to landscape
architects!

This workshop will include basic Permaculture material presented in seven
fun days of workshops and hands-on experience, focussed on developing
ecologically and socially friendly designs for sustainable living and
strengthening community, while learning techniques for living lightly on the
land. Covering urban and rural landscapes, this is the first of two courses
necessary to receive a Permaculture Design Certificate.

Permaculture (coined from combining the terms permanent and agriculture) is
a design system leading toward self-sufficiency in food, shelter, energy
use, employment, and supportive community. It is "based on the observation
of natural systems, the wisdom contained in traditional farming systems, and
modern scientific and technological knowledge." (From Bill Mollison's book,
"Introduction to Permaculture".)

Our two instructors have over 40 years of Permaculture experience combined
together and come from Ontario (Richard Griffith) and Nova Scotia (Dan
Earle). We are also proud to include short workshops from local artists and
craftspeople.

COSTS:
Seven day course (incl. all instruction and materials) - $650 (incl. tax)

Accommodation and Meals (for 8 nights, 3 meals each day)
1.	Bedroom accommodation (incl. shared room, towels, bedding): $525 (incl.
tax)
or
2.	Tenting accommodation: $300 (incl. tax)

Participants will arrive after dinner on August 31 and depart on the morning
of September 8.

Falls Brook Centre is a sustainable community development and training
centre. The Centre is working to demonstrate and communicate the
traditional skills and wisdom, the advanced knowledge, and appropriate
technologies that must combine to make the abstract concept of sustainable
development into the living reality of sustainable communities.

The Atlantic Council for International Cooperation is a coalition of
organizations working in Atlantic Canada, which are committed to achieving
global sustainability in a peaceful and healthy environment, with social
justice, human dignity, and participation for all.
