No previous experience is necessary, although participants must be able to swim. Canoes, tents and food are provided. WOMEN's Canoe Weekend, September 14 - 16 Paddle up a tidal river in Cumberland County. Along our journey we will nurture our sense of adventure, fun and wonder at nature. A weekend for women to reconnect with self, others and nature. Leadership: Paula Knowles, an experienced trip leader from Heartwood Centre and Laura Hunter, who is involved in environmental issues, community development, music and spirituality. Cost: $220. --- MEN's Canoeing, October 3 - 7, Wed 3 pm - Sun 2 pm. This wilderness adventure will sharpen our sense of where we're going - through the wilderness and in our lives. This is a lake and portage trip deep into southwestern Nova Scotia. Through conversations around campfires and companionship, we will find our way. An optional opportunity will be available to spend overnights alone on islands and headlands. Leadership; Don MacDougall, a longtime adult educator, naturalist and retired United Church minister.
