CPAWS-NS News Bulletin The September 15th workshop and AGM of the Nova Scotia chapter of Canadian Parks and Wilderness Society (CPAWS) was attended by about 50 people. There were several informative talks during the morning, and the afternoon session focused on defining roles for CPAWS-NS in regional advocacy (such as: marine protected areas, park management plan reviews, Atlantic regional advocacy, and others). At the AGM, a new Board was elected, and the Board then selected officers, as follows: President: Martin Willison Vice-President: Amanda Lavers Treasurer: Veronica Sherwood Secretary: Holly Palen Other members: Scott Brown, Chris Miller, Kate Willison The Board intends to appoint additional members as needed to fulfill its regional mandate. In addition, committees that deal with specific parks and wilderness themes are expected to be struck.
