Hi
Doesn't Fortis properties own the MT and T building? See below. Maybe an
info. picket would help. but I don't know whether it is the same company.

Subject: Open Air this Wednesday Night: Challilo

Sorry for the confusion last week when we meant to run this program but
ran a Mushroom picking show instead!

This week on Open Air:

Challilo: A River in Belize Runs Through Newfoundland
Part 1

Fortis Inc., a Newfoundland company, proposes to build a hydro dam
called Challilo on the Macal River in Belize.

The Challilo dam and Fortis Inc. are at the center of an international
controversy over whether the important riparian habitat in the area is
worth more as wildlife habitat than the electricity it would generate
when flooded.

An Environmental Impact Assessment has recently been submitted for the
project in Belize. The public has 30 days to respond.

The EIA predicts the extirpation of Scarlet Macaws in Belize and major
long-term regional effects on migratory birds from North America as well
as on other wildlife in the area if the proposed dam is built.

This week Open Air begins a visit to Belize and the Headquarters of
Fortis Inc in St. John's to find out more.

Join us 9 pm Newfoundland time (that's 7:30 EST) Wednesday night
for one hour on CHMR 93.5 FM.
