North End Community Health Centre Executive Director The North End Community Health Centre is a community based primary health care organization with a holistic and social-oriented approach to addressing individual and community health needs in the North End of Halifax. The Executive Director will work closely with the voluntary Board of Directors and Health Centre staff to ensure the delivery of primary health care services that reflect the Mission, Vision and the Strategic Plan of the Centre. Under the direction of the Board of Directors, the Executive Director has the primary responsibility for: - overall operation of the North End Community Health Centre - providing orientation, guidance and timely information to the Board of Directors - developing and maintaining of linkages between the Board and the larger community - maintaining linkages with Capital District Health Authority and other funding sources - fiscal management including budget preparation and fund raising - developing and implementing a strategic plan - coordinating volunteers - maintaining an open and cooperative working relationship with Health Centre staff - advocating for the health needs of the community - establishing and maintaining productive relationships with other organizations and agencies and with the immediate community The successful applicant will have: _ Minimum post secondary education in a related field - Minimum 5 years working experience in a senior management position - Experience with, and knowledge of, financial management, human resources, strategic planning, and program development & evaluation - Proven problem solving skills - Experience working in a culturally diverse setting - Experience working with a volunteer board - Experience using word processing programs, Internet and email Forward resume, along with a description ( not to exceed 3 pages) of how your skills would make you the best person for this position, to: Executive Director Hiring Committee North End Community Health Association 2165 Gottingen Street Halifax, Nova Scotia B3K 3B5 Canada This competition closes November 16, for a start date of January, 11,2002.
