As we ponder peace this season while war dominates the news, as
environmentalists we might consider the impact war has on the
environment and how the peace and environmental movements can work more
effectively together.

In a recent conversation Muriel Duckwoth, venerable peace veteran,
challenged environmentalists to pay more attention to the devastating
impact war and the preparations for war have on the ecosystems of the
planet.

Does anyone know of any research or activism that directly links peace
activism and environmental activism? I know we all share the same ideas
and often crossover in organizations but I am not aware of peace being a
main platform and point of action for the environmental movement.

I'd be happy to be corrected in this.

Peace for Earth!
Pat Kipping
