Mt. St. Vincent University Saturday Speaker's Corner
is pleased to present:

WORKSHOPS FOR TEACHERS with DAVID KEITH

Session I Saturday April 6, 2002, 9 a.m. - 2 p.m.
WELL-BEING FOR TEACHERS: NURTURING THE NURTURERS

This 5-hour workshop presents methods for dealing with the unique
stresses we face as teachers, looking at ways to replenish our resources
so that we can live and teach more effectively. An ever-widening job
description and classroom behaviour issues are among the challenges we
encounter. This will be an opportunity to share our successes and
frustrations in a supportive peer setting. We will learn relaxation
exercises to calm body and mind, affirmations for self-empowerment and
other tools for developing strength, resiliency and inner peace. It is
increasingly important to nurture the teachers who educate tomorrow's
leaders.
Session I registration deadline March 28. Cost $50

Session II Saturday April 13, 2002, 9 a.m. - 2 p.m.
PEACE IN THE CLASSROOM

This workshop is a hands-on introduction to the Peace Education Program
for Schools, a unique process which
helps children develop self-esteem and inner strength in working with
emotions. The skills offered in the
program teach children how to calm themselves, identify strengths as
well as obstacles, and create
affirmations for transforming behavior, leading to greater alertness,
focus and self-confidence.
Improvements in behavior, relationships, academic achievement and sleep
patterns are the
outcome of this process. We will also explore ways that teachers can
incorporate these tools into the
classroom.
Session II registration deadline April 5. Cost $50
