Friends of McNabs Island Society

McNABS and LAWLOR ISLANDS PROVINCIAL PARK

BEACH  CLEAN-UP

Sunday, June 2, 2002, (rain date June 9)
10:00 a.m. to  4:30 p.m.

Depart for McNabs Island from Murphy’s on the Water, Cable Wharf in Halifax
10 a.m.
Return from the island at 4:30 p.m.

Bring work gloves, drinking water, a lunch and Enthusiasm!
We will supply the garbage bags and FREE transportation to the island.
Capacity on the boat is limited to 147 people, so First Come, First Served.

Kick off Environment Week by joining the Friends of McNabs Island Society in
the 10th Annual Beach Cleanup of the islands. Since 1991, 6,500 bags of
garbage have been collected from McNabs and Lawlor Islands. This year,
McNabs and Lawlor Islands will become a provincial park. Help to keep Nova
Scotia's newest park clean!

This community event is sponsored by Clean Nova Scotia Foundation, Parks
Canada, Dept. of Natural Resources, Canadian Waste Services, Garrison
Brewing Co. and Murphy’s on the Water.
