guerrilla radio. first communique

allies

guerrilla radio began modestly in september; it has been blossoming in the
haligonian drizzle and slush ever since. feeling like we have finally hit
our stride as the temperature warms, and with spending the summer in halifax
on the horizon, ambition and excitement (and andrew's technical artistry)
took hold and we've upgraded the mission force to 'delta'. no longer is
guerrilla radio exclusively community; guerrilla radio is now available
worldwide, 24 hours a day, seven days a week. what's more, the shows are now
archived for your historical pleasure.

i'm prompted to distribute this GUERRILLA RADIO PROPAGANDA now because this
past thursday's edition of the show was an intellectual 'daisy-cutter'
dropped onto the tora bora of stagnated corporate media analysis. the show
is buoyed by columbian activist-in-exile dr. manuel rozental, who waxes
eloquent for 20 minutes on 'plan columbia'.

in the coming weeks, guerrilla radio will be focusing attention on
developing and perfecting the art of the 'shadow news cast'. considering the
show follows the bbc worldservice, the opportunity and relevance could
scarcely be better. we'll track the very same stories as the bbc, offering a
radically different perspective.

we'll keep you abreast of preparation, mobilization and education
surrounding the coming G8 (currently chaired by canada) garden-party in
kananaskis, alberta. we'll continue to provide the community goodies as
always... and we are even going to feature an "anarchist of the week", just
because everyone wants to know who these folks are and what they really
think.

so check out the poster we made while waiting for the leafs and isles game
to start:
http://www.bethechange.ca/guerilla/poster.pdf and feel free to print'er out
and throw it up on your bedroom wall or neighbourhood telephone poll.

better still, check out the most recent show with dr. manuel rozental

all you need, archived - http://www.bethechange.ca/radio

in closing, i promise i'll send you written words soon enough, especially
for all those stuck 'reforesting' clearcuts without access to webaudio... i
can neither confirm nor deny that the same team currently coopting guerrilla
radio has lavish plans for an underground journal that should be on
collaborating newstands in the coming weeks.
