The Society for Corporate Environmental and Social Responsibility (CESR) is
having a symbolic ratification of the Kyoto Protocol ceremony in front of
the Student Union Building on University Ave. at Dalhousie University from
12:15 to 12:45 on Wednesday, Oct. 30. You are invited to "ratify" Kyoto.

Please join Dalhousie faculty and students as we show our support for the
Kyoto Protocol and put pressure on our governments to ratify it. We also
want to encourage our university to commit to reducing climate change gases.
We are expecting our MP Alexa McDonough, other local politicians, community
people, environmental groups, the Raging Grannies and the media. Secret
surprises included! We will have letters to sign and "Kyoto Protocols" for
everyone to "ratify". One of these will be delivered to our Premier.

Dalhousie University has signed the Talloires Declaration for Environmental
Sustainability in Higher Education (1990), Halifax Declaration on
Environment and Development (1991), and the International Declaration on
Cleaner Production (2000) and has its own environmental policy, so we would
like Dalhousie University to lead the way by being the first university in
Canada to commit to reducing climate change gases as set out in the Kyoto
Protocol. For more information about the Society for Corporate Environmental
and Social Responsibility (CESR), please visit our web site:
http://is2.dal.ca/~cesr or email us at: cesr@is2.dal.ca

*Please remember to attend the Rally to Save Kyoto at noon on Monday, Oct.
28 in front of the Casino Hotel on Lower Water St.during the Joint Ministers
Meeting.
