Belated happy new year to all sust-marmots. I was off-line for most of the past three weeks. Acting on a suggestion by Susanna F, i unmoderated the list and let things run on auto-pilot (since Winter Solstice (21 Dec)). Since that time, the list has been "open." Subscriber feedback over the years, and the dramatic increase in subscription (from less than 75 to almost 400) after the list became moderated in 1997 has convinced me that more people want a moderated list. Accordingly, as of today, sust-mar is moderated again: this means i will be releasing posts on a one-a-day basis. Thank you for making the experiment a success. In future, i will leave the list unmoderated whenever i am unable to tend to it every day.
