Waste Reduction Animator/Educator Wanted
RRFB Nova Scotia is a not-for-profit company established by the Province of
Nova Scotia to administer
certain components of the Province's Solid Waste-Resource Management
Strategy. One of our primary
mandates is to promote education and awareness of waste reduction, reuse,
recycling and composting.
We are seeking a full-time Waste Reduction Animator/Educator who will
develop and deliver educational
and entertaining presentations about waste reduction, reuse, recycling and
composting using a remote-
controlled robot. The educator will also provide support for general
communication and education initiatives.
The position is based in Truro and will require extensive travel throughout
the province and some evening
and weekend work.
The successful candidate should be university-educated and have experience
working with children as an
animator/educator. He/she must possess excellent communication and computer
skills, have a technical
aptitude to manage a robotic mascot, be able to lift and transport heavy
objects, and possess a valid Nova
Scotia driver's license. Knowledge of provincial solid waste management
issues and French language skills
would be considered an asset.
