IN SOLIDARITY:
Images of Life on the Axis of Evil and Beyond
(1945 – present)

IN SOLIDARITY is collecting photographs that portray
everyday life in the 24 countries that share the
common experience of being bombed by the United States
since the end of World War II.

Cuba, Japan, China, Korea, Guatemala, Indonesia,
Congo, Peru, Dominican Republic, Laos, Vietnam,
Cambodia, Grenada, Lebanon, Puerto Rico, Libya, El
Salvador, Nicaragua, Panama, Iraq, Sudan, Bosnia,
Afghanistan, Yugoslavia

The goal of the show is to create a sense of
solidarity amongst people who feel that the US war on
Iraq is unjust. The show will, at the same time,
confront past acts of US aggression in countries
around the world. It will provide a truer portrait of
life in these countries. These are real people, real
places, real homes, not just glorified images of war
on TV that we don’t want to pay attention to anymore,
or can’t bear to face.

Pictures may be of family, friends, community events,
travel, workplace, scenery, celebrations, etc. Images
of everyday life.

The photos will be displayed in businesses, galleries
and public spaces throughout the city. The city-wide
show will open on Monday, May 5th, 2003, with a
reception at Bella Muse, 2530 Agricola Street on
Saturday, May 10th, 2003.

·We are looking for a large number of photos with
content as our most important selection criteria
·Photographs may be of any size - the larger, the
better
·Unframed photos will be accepted, framed is preferred
·To be included for the show opening, all photos must
be submitted by April 28th, 2003

Please be sure to include your name, address and phone
number on the back of each photograph. Include the
date of the photo, the country in which the photo was
taken and a brief description or title of the
photograph, in clear, legible text. Every effort will
be made to return all photos submitted.
