If you like working with trees there are a couple of events planned for
this weekend in Hants county that may be of interest:

1.  CAPE Woodlot Tour - Saturday 3 May 2003, 1 - 4 pm
	with Will Martin, specialist in 'Restorative forestry'
	(from Rising Forest Management Consulting)

Discuss forest issues:
	-working your land
	-alternatives to clear cutting
	-wildlife enhancement
	-getting the help you need
	-restoring the forest

The tour will be at a site on the New Cheverie Road (Off Rte 215, 6km from
either end.) Follow the "CAPE Woodlot tour" signs. Come along and bring
your family and friends.

2. A Workshop on Hedgerows and Shelterbelts
	Sunday 4 May 2003,  2 - 5pm
	Red Fox Farm Co-op

Hedgerows, when properly designed and maintained, can be beneficial to
your home, garden, or farm.  Hedges, living fences and shelterbelts can: 

	- Cut Home Heating Energy costs
	- Provide Habitat for wildlife
	- Improve crop yield
	- Cut soil erosion and increase soil moisture
	- Trap snow on fields minimizing build up on roads
	- Revitalize watersheds
	- Add Beauty

Come and Join us for a workshop, tour and work party at the Red Fox Farm.
You will see a variety of hedgerows, brush fences and living fences.
	- "Hands on" work experience 
	- Learn about different plants and trees 
	- Tips on transplanting trees and shrubs
	- Tour led by Jennifer Scott 
	- Refreshments provided
