HRM Bike Week is a celebration of bicycling in Halifax Regional
Municipality. Events are scheduled throughout the week of June 1-7.
The calendar of events is on the HRM cycling web site at:
http://www.region.halifax.ns.ca/cycling/
and is included as text below the signature of this message.
If you are interested in helping out, we could use a few volunteers on
Sunday, June 1 during the Bike Parade, and on Monday, June 2 during the
free pancake breakfast. You can contact me if you'd like to help out.

Sunday, June 1 - Introductory Bike Ride
10:00 am - meet at Halifax Armdale Rotary for an easy social bike ride
(meet at the little parking lot between the rotary and Chebucto Road).

Sunday, June 1 - BIKE PARADE - 1:30 pm - Rain or Shine - Dress Accordingly
1:30 pm - Meet at Halifax Commons near Skate Bowl
(by corner of Bell Road and Summer Street).
Come ride a bike together with family and friends. Children on bikes
welcome - streets will be temporarily closed with police escort for the
parade.- Costume Contest - Best-Decorated Bicycle Contest - Ballgowns on
Bikes Welcome - Parade follows Bell, Sackville, and Brunswick to the
George Dixon Centre for an indoor/outdoor festival 3:00-5:00 pm.
Monday, June 2 - Pancake Breakfast - Free Pancakes for Cyclists
7:00 to 9:00 am - at Alderney Landing (Dartmouth Ferry Terminal)

Saturday, June 7 - Int'l Trails Day
10:00 am - Bike Ride on the BLT (Beechville/Lakeside/Timberlea) Trail
Meet at Lakeside Industrial Park in Beechville (trailhead is beside the
Coke Plant) for an 18 km easy ride on a lovely trail.
For directions to the trailhead, or to join a group riding bikes from
Dartmouth/Halifax to the trailhead, call Wayne at (902) 429 0787.
ALL WEEK - Free Ferry Rides For Cyclists June 1-7
Bring a bike with you on the Harbour Ferries during Bike Week, and you go
