Subject: Help Save Sydney Mines/North Sydney from Strip-mine Development

Take Action!

Right now, the Nova Scotia Government is considering the approval of a
strip-mine within an ecologically rich area in Cape Breton. This area is a
natural habitat including wetland, mature forest and wildlife, all within
town limits. It is a recreational area valued by the communities of Sydney
Mines and North Sydney.

After 100 years of stripping the land and leaving wasteland behind, isn’t it
time to move on to other forms of sustainable, green development?

Help to protect this ecologically rich area and its wildlife. Don’t
hesitate. Act now and visit www.stopthemine.org and fill out an online
petition.

Please forward this email to others whom you feel will also be concerned
about this strip-mine proposal. Thank you for your support.
