The EAC once again has pesticide free Christmas trees and wreaths for
sale! We will be at the Halifax Farmers Market for the next four
Saturdays (starting November 15th), and can also take orders over the
phone at 429-2202. This is an excellent way to ensure your Christmas tree
comes from a low impact tree farm (Sheldon Rafuse has been growing trees
in New Ross for decades!) and to support a local environmental group (for
more info on the projects that EAC is working on, check out www.
ecologyaction.ca).

In addition to trees and wreaths, this year we have LED (light emitting
diode) indoor and outdoor Christmas lights. LED lights use significantly
less electricity than normal Christmas lights. Some of the advantages are:
-use 80%-90% less power
-save on your electric bill, but still be festive
-LED lights have a lifespan of more than 100 times regular Christmas
lights
-no need for replacement bulbs!
-no heat produced, so increased safety when used on live trees
-help reduce your impact on Climate Change and increase energy efficiency.

Drop by the EAC office on 1568 Argyle Street, call (429-2202)or come see
us at the Market!
