Nova Scotia's GREENs on the Net.......
**************************************

You may not be aware of the many ways Nova Scotia
GREENs are on the Net.

Our general email address for specific inquires is :

gpcns@chebucto.ca

Our new - developing! - website is:

greenpartyns.chebucto.org

Our internal mail list is:

gpcns-news@chebucto.ns.ca

Finally there is the mail list I want to
tell you about today:

green-news@chebucto.ns.ca

This -new - mailing list is the public list
for Nova Scotia's GREENs.

Here is what it is +NOT+ :

It is +NOT+ going to be filled with the
minutiae of adminstrative activities, of interest -
barely! - to only party executives. That is the role of
gpcs-news.

It is +NOT+ limited to 'BIG G' GREEN PARTY people.
It is open to be read by and posted to, by all
people in Nova Scotia ( or ex-Nova Scotians)
interested in general 'small g' green issues.

It is +NOT+ going to be censored by the moderator
when the poster slams the GREEN Party or advocates
voting NDP instead. But posters will expect that
they will get a riposte from GREEN supporters.
Fruitful debate and criticism is welcome - on any
'small g' green issue. Only totally non-relevant
or spam posts will be refused. Refusals can be appealed,
past the list moderator, to the NS GREENs Steering
Committee.

It is +NOT+ going to be a high volume list: non-urgent
posts may be spread out over several days so - usually -
only a max of 1-2 emails a day arrive.

It is +NOT+ a list whose posts all disappear after they are
send out. The most enduring posts -determined by reader
feedback and their theme/research involved - will be
ARCHIVED prominently on the NS GREENs' website.

 Ie,
this is the place for that essay-report you've always
meaning to write. 15k-20k max, generally - include http
links in the text to keep it to web-friendly lengths.
But send it as Text/ .txt / ASCII --- never ever
as an HTML attachment with your email.

If you are interested, will you consider adding your name
to the mailing list?

First - to reassure you = let me tell you how to get OFF the list!

You simply email majordomo@chebucto.ns.ca

in the body of your email, simply type

unsubscribe green-news

and send it!

Joining the list is just as simple

email majordomo@chebucto.ns.ca

and in body of your email simply type

subscribe green-news

and sent it off!

If you have any more questions, email me at ad760@chebucto.ca
or phone me at 453-2011

If you like the idea - encourage friends of like mind to try joining the
list.

A mailing list - of a slightly different sort - that I can also highly
recommend is sust-mar@chebucto.ns.ca . Subscribe the same way, via
majordomo@chebucto.ns.ca etc.

Sust-mar is more concerned with getting timely messages out to the entire
body of Atlantic Canadian environmentalists - if an event or crisis is
happening - tell its readers - they will usually cross post it to THEIR
lists - and thousands will hear your message. Green-news is more for
lively discussion about how to make our lives more green in fundamental
ways.

Hope to hear from you ,

michael marshall
