Soon it will be RRSP season.

Keep in mind that these funds are not necessarily safe, nor green. You the
investor must judge the soundness of the investment -- *and* the
"greenness" of these products. Neither the writer, sust-mar or Chebucto
Community Net is recommending nor endorsing these. Remember that no
financial planner on earth can tell you about the 100-year return of mutual funds!

In Nova Scotia, i'm told there are community funds you can invest in.
Maybe someone who knows more about those will share some information.

If you read "The Wealthy Barber" don't forget to borrow "Your Money or
Your Life" from the library -- for a bigger picture.

Consider also the value of investing in your community. That $1000 you
give the Ecology Action Centre, the Green Party, Jack Layton or your
favourite NGO -- or those 2 hours you volunteer every week at the
Grainery -- might not net you a financial return (tho you might get a tax receipt). If it makes your community a better place, that might make you happier than money.

And, if that happens, and you are living on love and thin water (as the
French might say) perhaps you are the wisest investor of all!
