dear sust-mar readers:
Jim Harris, national leader of the GREENs, will be on the wharf at
Fisherman's Cove, Eastern Passage, Halifax (just below shearwater)
at 10 AM this Monday, June 7th, to help celebrate World Oceans Day ( now
celebrated worldwide but which originated in Halifax ).
Jim, together with national GREEN shadow critic for Oceans and Fisheries,
Martin Willison,will be giving the GREENs' assessment of the state of the
Atlantic Canada portion of the world's oceans, circa 2004.
Please feel free to come and engage jim and martin on their views on
oceans and fishery policy.
Greens DO have policy for Atlantic Canada and they DO have candidates : 32
candidates already filing to be on the ballot here - a full slate !
Without the large 'gifts' ( quote unquote ) from friendly companies and
unions,the names of GREENs will not be as visible in the sign wars as
other parties, though we feel we measure fully up when it comes to our
participation in content-filled activities like all-candidates debates.
I have gathered contact information on the
full slate of 32 GREEN candidates across
Atlantic Canada from their national website at http://greenparty.ca
and put it in a shorter format, so you can question these 32 GREENs as
well as the candidates from the three traditional large parties and
candidates from the other small parties offering in this election.
Hats off to all citizens cum candidates who are brave enough to walk the
streets for 5 weeks,
begging others for a job !
I suggest we question all the candidates from ALL the parties on
their committment , to see if our traditional choice still measures up to
our standard...
