Michael Moore's new film Fahrenheit 9/11 opens at the Oxford Theatre on
Quinpool St. in Halifax this Friday. The movie runs from June 25 to July
1 and plays every day at 7 pm and 9:30 pm with weekend matinees at 4:30
pm (it probably will be extended). Run time is 112 minutes. Fahrenheit
9/11 won top prize at this year's Cannes Film Festival. More info:

*Mark your calendar, the Halifax Peace Coalition will have well known
Scott Taylor speak on Iraq on Thursday, July 8 at 7pm at Dalhousie
University venue TBA. He will also be on the CBC Maritime Noon Call-in
Radio Show on Thursday, July 8 from 1-2pm (FM 90.5).

Scott Taylor is a journalist with Esprit de Corps and is a weekly
columnist for the Halifax Herald and Windsor Star. He is the author of
the new book "Spinning on the Axis of Evil". Taylor has logged over one
million air miles as a war correspondent reporting from such global hot
spots as the Persian Gulf, Cambodia, Western Sahara, Croatia, Bosnia,
and most recently from Iraq, Turkey, Yugoslavia, Kosovo, and Macedonia.
Since August 2000, Taylor has made a total of 15 trips into Iraq to
report on the effects of the UN sanctions, the ravages of depleted
uranium following the 1991 Gulf War, and the heightening tensions with
the United States.
