Dear Colleague,
Please see the forwarded email below if you wish to view the made-in-NB
documentary titled Forbidden Forest during the coming days. Happy New Year,
Marieka Arnold

FORBIDDEN FOREST

Film Synopsis
A tale of corporate greed, lax government policies
and people passionate
about the places they love, Forbidden Forest
premieres on CBC's The Nature
of Things with David Suzuki on Thursday, January
6th at 7pm and then airs
again on Sunday January 9th at 3pm. The hour-long
NFB -Timber Colony
co-production takes an unflinching look, through
the eyes of two very
different men united by a passion to save the
forest. The film documents how
multinational corporations are clear-cutting New
Brunswick's millions of
acres of Crown land.

Forbidden Forest was directed by Kevin Matthews,
an award-winning
Fredericton director. The film was produced by
Kent Martin for the National
Film Board of Canada and Lloyd Salomone for the
Fredericton based production
company Timber Colony Inc.

The following old english ditty written in the
1700's during the enclosure movement I think best
describes today's situation of forest and resource
enclosure by the multinationals;

They hang the man and flog the woman
That steal the goose from off the common,
But let the greater villain loose
That steals the common from the goose.

regards
Kevin W
