2. Project Manager
Action for Neighbourhood Change
 

United Way of Halifax Region is one of five United Ways participating in an
exciting project focused on neighbourhood development.  This innovative fast
paced project is the result of a partnership between three national
organizations: United Way Canada, the Tamarack Institute and the Caledon
Institute of Social Policy.

 

The Project Manager will ensure that the infrastructure and materials are in
place so that the project is successfully developed and implemented in the
Halifax Region. This will include creating an effective working relationship
with local organizations and institutions and providing appropriate
leadership to achieve the project outcomes.

 

The successful candidate is an experienced project manager, able to complete
challenging projects and complex planning; an effective communicator capable
of building working relationships with a wide range of stakeholders; skilled
at resolving conflict and solving problems as they arise; and believes that
citizen engagement is critical for effective community change.

 

A university degree in a related field or appropriate experience, extensive
experience in community development, and project management in the voluntary
sector are required.

 

The contract for this position extends from February 2005 through March 31,
2006. The project fee is $40,000 - $52,000 depending on experience and
qualifications.
