Still looking for a unique way to celebrate Mom this year? This Mother’s
Day, treat your mom—and your closet!—by taking part in Clean Nova Scotia’s
Mother’s Day Clothing Swap at the Alderney Landing Market in Dartmouth.
Reduce your new clothing purchases, recycle your old clothes, and reuse the
money you save!

Donate your unwanted duds to the swap by dropping off at the Clean Nova
Scotia office at 126 Portland Street on Friday May 6th between 8:30 am to
4:30 pm. Or, bring your clothing to the event on May 8th. Everything must be
clean and in good condition. The first 15 people to arrive with a clothing
donation will receive a free cotton bag, which can be used to collect all
the fabulous free fashions you’ll find at the swap.

“Using secondhand goods such as clothing is a great way to reduce greenhouse
gas emissions,” says Clean Nova Scotia’s Executive Director Steve Machat.
“We hope this swap will encourage Nova Scotians to reuse and reduce
materials that may otherwise end up in a landfill rather than in the closet
of a happy new owner.”

Any items remaining at the end of the swap will be donated to the Salvation
Army and the Dress for Success program.

The Mother’s Day Clothing Swap will take place from 9am-2pm at the Alderney
Landing Market on the Dartmouth Waterfront. For more information, or to
volunteer at Clean Nova Scotia, please call Kari at 420-3474.

Clean Nova Scotia is a non-profit, non-governmental organization that seeks
to work with Nova Scotians through education and action to achieve
environmentally healthy communities.
